2025 Estate Petit Manseng
This superbly crafted Petit Manseng offers just a hint of sweetness, enough to charm without stealing the spotlight. Fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel, it lets the vineyard’s natural freshness shine bright and clear. In the glass, it glows a rich medium gold with a platinum halo, I think this is the definition of eye candy. The nose is layered and indulgent: warm baking spices like cinnamon and clove mingle with lemon drop and the unmistakable decadence of pineapple upside-down cake. One sip in and that luscious pineapple takes center stage, followed by a touch of goldenberry (think guava). It is full-bodied, expressive. The finish is exquisite and long with the pineapple lingering on your tongue. This crafting of Petit Manseng could be one of the best you may experience. Slightly chilled, the wine shows off its richness and depth; a bit colder and it turns bright and lively. Between 48-52°F is perfect. This wine loves bold flavors. Strong cheeses like Stilton or sharp cheddar, bake up some rich hot cheddar biscuits wow! It’s a natural with spicy Thai or Indian dishes, shines alongside Kansas City BBQ when well chilled, and is a perfect partner with robust German sausages like Mettwurst.
