2024 Albariño Stainless Steel
This is our inaugural vintage of wine made with this Albariño grape and James Phillips first Albariño. What a way to start!
Albariño wines characteristically are dry, crisp white wines. They have notes of citrus, lemon, lime, and grapefruit, with a touch of honeysuckle, orange zest, and often a hint of saltiness.
This Stone Tower Albariño is beautiful with a lovely golden straw color and a lustrous white halo. The nose of this wine is playful with an almost fruit loop cereal quality featuring hints of passion fruit, star fruit and a little white flower. The fruitiness of the nose transports through to the palate and there is a hint of citrus zest which can be so characteristic of the varietal. That fruit and the brightness carry through to the finish and what we thought might be a hint of fruit loop cereal reveals itself as a allusion of pink starburst candy. What a divine crafting and a real reflection of the Stone Tower terroir.
Pair this wine with seafood, seafood and more seafood - seafood risotto, fish tacos, oysters, clams, mussels, and anything else from the sea. Try it with leafy greens and grilled vegetables. It performs extremely well with a little heat - try it with Pad Thai, or different curries. Thinking of cheese, soft and creamy cheeses like goat cheese or fresh mozzarella and burrata, Manchego for a more robust pairing. Like all Albariño this wine should be enjoyed while young. Drink it now or through 2026 Serve the wine at 52° - 55°.
The wine is 100% Albariño. The wine was fermented in stainless steel. It was elevaged in stainless steel. 10% was elevaged in once used puncheon. It was harvested in in August!
