The 2023 Stone Tower Estate Sauvignon Blanc Reserve is our sixth reserve bottling. Like the other vintages preceding this one, the wine is sophisticated and chic. When we speak of Sauvignon Blanc so many times the mind immediately shifts to the wine overloaded with citrus and high acidity. This style is sophisticated and much more evocative of those Sauvignon Blancs found in either the Pessac-Léognan or the Loire Valley of France.

With this wine we find a rich round wine with a nose of stone fruit, honeysuckle. On the palate these flavors are complimented by a bit of beeswax, and a modest amount of Lemongrass on the finish. Much of the texture and flavor profile of this wine is attributed to the craftsmanship employed by the winemaking team. The wine will naturally have a lovely roundness due to the use of oak during fermentation and elevage, but adding the battonage and lees ageing adds a graciousness to the wine.  It can be said that you can always tell when a wine is thoughtfully crafted, and this wine is a perfect example of that premise.

The fruit is sourced from Block J clones 376 and 530 and is 100% Estate Sauvignon Blanc, harvested on September 23, 2023.  This wine will pair beautifully with a wide variety of foods – meat – chicken and pork, fish – sole, trout, cod, halibut.
