The 2023 Stone Tower Estate Sauvignon Blanc Barrel Select is the third wine we have created with this name. When we label the wine Barrel Select it means – James and the winemaking team tasted through barrels of 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, several stood out as unique and outstanding.  The team made the decision to age the wine in 50% new French oak for 17 months.  This technique gives this wine an incredible complexity and elegance. 

In appearance the wine is a lovely light straw in color. It has a unique character with the nose of lemon curd, tropical citrus, and key lime pie with a hint of crème brulé. The wines palate carries the fruit from the nose and punctuates it with a touch of white peach and lemon curd - there is a stunning brightness on the palate. The finish is reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley with a creaminess and a touch of vanilla from the oak. 

This wine will pair with the traditional foods which compliment Sauvignon Blanc like goat’s milk cheese and a variety of vegetable and fish dishes. Because of the richness of this wine roasted fish, with thyme, pasta with shrimp and herbs and ricer more complex dishes bring out the best in the wine.  Serve this wine at 50° and enjoy it today through 2028

The wine is 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown and harvested from Block J. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and Elevaged for 17 months in French oak – 50% new. It is 13.7% ABV.
