2021 Estate Chardonnay Reserve
The 2021 Chardonnay is produced from Estate grown fruit. The wine was élevaged and spent the majority of the time (70%) in new French oak. Like many of our Estate Chardonnays, this wine is similar in style to chardonnays from Burgundy, specifically like those produced in the Côte de Beaune, the Southern half of the Burgundy’s prestigious Côte d’Or. The bouquet features citrus and freshly-mown grass. The wine offers depth, complexity and creaminess on the palate and lovely acidity with apple, orange and tropical fruit flavors which are heightened by oak influence which also gives the wine a feeling of roundness. It has everything that it should have: vivacity, brilliance, and intense gold color. It charms the palate with its fruit and finishes, with a touch of hazelnut. This wine will pair well with anything buttery. Fish cooked in butter (like sole meunière), a buttery roast chicken, creamy and even slightly cheesy sauces. Try it with a chicken pot pie, salmon, or the best - seared scallops.
