This Wind Swept Hill is produced from The best Cabernet Franc and Merlot of the season. The wine is almost equal parts of these two varietals and a stunning example of the Right Bank Bordeaux style wine Stone Tower has become known to produce. The blend of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon results in an incredibly well-balanced wine with a lush texture, soft tannins. The nose is a mélange of black cherries, chocolate, black and red plums. On the palate the wine explodes with rich ripe fruit and as the wine finishes the soft smoothness of chocolate appears – simply sensational. As the wines ages, we will see more of the chocolate and some slightly earthy characteristics.  This 2020 Wind Swept Hill pairs well with terrines made with duck and game, slightly sweet cheeses such as Comte, Roast duck, lamb, pasta and pizza.
