2017 Wild Boar Petit Verdot
While historically used as a blending grape in Bordeaux, Petit Verdot is developing a cult-like following, with fans falling in love with its unique, concentrated, and full-bodied flavor profile. Moreover, it is finding a natural home in Virginia where it shines as a star grape. Its natural suitability to our climate and soils results in great potential for the grape to expand the prestige and awareness of Virginia wines. The fruit for this wine is entirely sourced from Loudoun Count, VA, and the Malbec used in this wine actually comes from our estate vines on Hogback Mountain. Aged for nearly 18 months in French oak, this wine is elegant (yet rich) with a long life ahead of it. Age through 2028.
90% Petit Verdot, 10% Malbec.
