2014 was a wonderful sophomore year for our estate reds, producing Bordeaux style blends that are
complex in their youth while incredibly age worthy with some patience. Our Cabernet Sauvignon
dominant blend is rich in dark fruit as aromas of blackberry, plum, and currant excite your senses.
Secondary notes of cracked pepper and herbs de provence are rounded out nicely with sweet notes of
vanilla bean and floral notes of potpourri. Spending 12 months in new French Oak barrels and 8
months in used, this wine will have the longevity to age for years to come.
Our 2014 Windswept Hill leaps out of the glass with notes of ripe cranberry, berry cobbler, and
tobacco. 30% Merlot, equal parts Cab Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon at 28%, and finished with a bit
of Petit Verdot our right bank representation is full bodied yet approachable. A wonderful marriage of
Old and New World styles, the Windswept Hill compliments aromas of dried cherry with mineral
notes of blacktop after a summer rain. Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, a rich finish of dark
chocolate will leave your mouth watering.
Our Sanglier Noble is near and dear to our hearts, as we’ve been producing this blend since our founding in 2009. A blend of Bordeaux varietals, this Cabernet Sauvignon dominate wine is wonderfully rich on the palate with a lingering finish of dark cocoa and black currant. Aged 16 months in French Oak barrels, well integrated notes of cigar box and nutmeg shine through on the palate. With 21 % Malbec, classic characteristics of lush black plum violets jump out of the glass. Incredibly drinkable in it’s youth, the 2014 Sanglier Noble will continue to develop and cellar wonderfully.
Brilliant appearance, light golden color, with rich legs falling in one sheet from rim of glass. First impression in bouquet is aromas of fresh yellow pear, spring blossom, with hints of vanilla, cassis blanc, and honeysuckle vying for attention. Very succulent, viscous impression on the entry gives way to tropically fruited mid palate followed by an oiliness coated in honeysuckle that persists throughout the finish. Wonderful weight and balance for this rare Rhone white.
Beautifully clear with a pale green-gold hue, this Chardonnay offers aromas of white peach, lychee nut, and Golden Delicious apple with hints of citrus and a slight nuttiness. The wine’s lovely richness is nicely cut by its acidity, creating a balanced wine full of flavor. This wine pairs perfectly with roast chicken, salmon with pesto, pasta carbonara and creamy brie.
Our third vintage of Wild Boar Merlot exceeds expectations with rich aromas of stewed plum on the nose complimented by baking spices and black fig. Notes of rhubarb pie charm the palate while the ripe tannins open up on the mid palate leading to a dry finish.
Our Wild Boar Chardonnay is inspired by our limited production estate version, made with the same ethos emphasizing balance and restraint. Beautifully clear with a pale green-gold hue, this Chardonnay offers aromas of white peach, lychee nut, and Golden Delicious apple with hints of citrus and a slight nuttiness.
With a brilliant pale straw color, this intensely aromatic white exudes bountiful aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit, guava, and white peach. On the palate, the wine has a silky texture balanced by a vibrant acidity and brilliant minerality. This incredibly balanced wine lingers elegantly on the finish.
With one sip of our Wild Boar Viognier, you won’t question why it was named Virginia’s state grape! A nose of peach sorbet and ripe pear tempt you and are complimented by a palate of honey and macadamia nut. The varietal characteristics of this wine can’t be ignored as notes of hawthorne, spring blossom, and gardenia leap out of the glass. You will be charmed by the paradoxical nature of this wine, incredibly delicate on the nose with a rich and luxurious structure allowing it to be an incredibly food friendly wine.
The Rosé Cuvée is a blend of traditional Champagne varietals Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. With a vibrant bouquet of fresh strawberries and pomegranates, the rosé serves as a wonderful aperitif to any meal. Notes of cherry blossom on the palate are complimented with the rich, rising dough components often associated with méthode champenoise. Wonderful with fried oysters and a spicy rémoulade, butternut squash ravioli with brown butter sage, and creamy panna cotta.
